"Go Mimi, it's your birthday!"

Happy 2nd birthday Amelia! This whole weekend, Austin and I have been saying, "I can't believe she is TWO!!!" And it's true. It's like she was just a baby yesterday, while at the same time, it feels like she's been in our lives forever. For the birthday details, I baked a pink and white cake with Diego decorations, and we got her (from top to bottom) 2 hand puppets, a number puzzle, color wonder markers and book, and a My Little Pony, (not seen, a Toodee doll). You might think from the last picture that Amelia was wiped out after eating cake, but she was actually just tired from dancing on the table top while I ate out the side of her cake (I don't like frosting).

Quote: "I'm going to send off her cycloptic penis this week."

Yes, I said "penis." Actually, my mother did. That was actual text from an email she sent me. Nice. Well, Sal, the "cycloptic penis" arrived and Amelia loves it! For the rest of the world (with more innocent minds), what she was referring to is actually Muno, from "Yo Gabba Gabba." Amelia already has Brobee, the green one, and Toodee, the blue one. I'm still on the prowl for Foofa and Plex. When you squeeze their hands, they sing songs and Amelia can't get enough of them.

If Sarah Palin was my mother, my name would be...

Lean Pipe Palin!

Try it yourself, and let me know what your name would be.

Austin would be: Stepper Choke Palin
Amelia would be: Crust Scramble Palin (that sounds good...I'll have that)

Words cannot even express how hard I am laughing

I tried out this cool thing on the internet, on myheritage.com, called Celebrity Morph. You upload a picture of yourself and it searches for the celebrity that matches your face the closest. Ooh Fun! So, first I had to brush my hair and put on lip gloss, and then take a picture of myself. (It is interesting to see how crabby I look when I am not smiling....Austin was totally right!)

I laughed my pants off (no, not really) when I saw who the site had matched me with, at like 76% similarity. I had no idea. It's so messed up. But in that funny way, you know, like the joke about "what is the opposite of Christopher Walken?" Well....you know...

My other top matches were David Boreanz and Marion Jones (huh?)

So, then I thought I would morph Austin so I could prove to the world how much he looks like Christian Bale.

Anyway, using this picture, he actually looked like Russell Crowe at 61%, but that wasn't funny enough. Oh, no, not funny enough for me, so I morphed him into Tom Selleck at 51%. I don't know...maybe I need a beardless picture. But he looks damn handsome anyway...Austin, that is, not Tom Selleck.

So, of course, I had to morph Mimi...

Jamie Lynn Spears at 74%. Heh.

So, please, please, morph yourself, and send me the html code so I can post it. Or don't. Either way. But we can all have a laugh at your expense. (If you are going to morph yourself, you can find the html code under the posting options under "Other." Just copy that code and email it to me).

Just one of those pictures

This is just a picture of Amelia standing in her favorite spot (in front of the TV) so everybody can say, "Wow....she's grown so much."

Mini-Mom

I took my old glasses (which look just like my new ones) and popped the lenses out so Amelia's delicate retinas wouldn't explode and gave the frames to Amelia. We tried them out in the bathroom mirror and Amelia and I laughed hysterically at how she looked just like Mommy. I was able to get a picture before she broke them.

Fun with markers

Some of you might remember some pictures from August 2007 where I drew all over Amelia with a red magic market and she was laughing her head off. In that tradition, I gave Amelia some highlighters and let her draw on herself and some paper, and I helped with the decoration. Now, all she wants to do is draw on herself. On Saturday, I let her play with a pen (under my 1 foot away supervision) and she drew all over her arms and legs, and then scribbled on my palms.

Business up front, party in the rear

Amelia is seen her sporting her "baby mullet" hairstyle. No, I don't cut it intentionally like this...I just cut her bangs to keep them from poking her in the eyes, and since she won't let me put it in a ponytail, this is how she runs around.

Cave Girl

Amelia was running around the other day, wearing nothing but the bloomers from one of her Hawaiian dresses, with wild hair, making lots of noise, and Austin said she was a Cavegirl. I think that's a pretty appropriate description.

Introducing Sarah!

Check out this beautiful baby! This is Sarah Monroe BDR (I'm abbreviating her 3 word last name for the sake of time). She is the brand new daughter of my friend Wendy and her husband Aaron. Sarah is a miracle baby! Wendy and Aaron have been trying for a baby for years (since their 8 year old son was born) and they finally have a baby girl. I've known Wendy for about 12 years...she was my sponsor at my first base and she helped me get the job with Northrop Grumman. She has had the name Sarah picked out as long as I've known her (in fact, she was the first person I called when Amelia was born, and I was afraid to tell her we gave Amelia the middle name of Sarah, even though we gave Amelia her middle name after my mom). "Monroe" is the county in West Virginia where Wendy is from.

Sarah is cute and pink and very cuddly, and she sleeps like a champ. I got to visit them last Friday and hold Sarah and it really makes me miss Amelia as a baby.

Congratulations Sarah and Aaron!

Baby in a Box!

I can't believe that it's been over a month since I posted pictures of Amelia! Sorry, sorry, sorry!
Anyway, I got a coffee maker for Austin about 2 weeks ago, and since Amelia likes boxes, she decided to crawl into it. Unfortunately, her crawling into it started off a wicked chain of events, where in a 36 hour period, she scratched her face crawling into this box, then, while playing on our bed, she rolled off and bumped her face on our nightstand, leaving a V-shaped bruise on her chin, and within 4 hours of that, she started a stomach flu that had her puking about 15 times in 8 hours....leaving Mommy and Amelia finally passing out on the sofa at 5am. Luckily, babies recover quick, and within 24 hours, she was ready to play again (and of course, one of the first things she wanted to do was play on our bed).
