Visiting friends

Amelia with Chloe and Carter

Chloe and Amelia
Our old house in San Antonio on Brooks
(way overgrown since we left it!)
The day after we got to San Antonio, we visited our friends, Kim and Jeff, and their 4 kids, Kobe, Cooper, Carter, and Chloe. When we lived across the street from them on Brooks in 2005, Colin and Aidan were great friends with the 3 boys. Chloe was born about 3 months before Amelia, and I would have never guessed that they would actually play together one day!
Did I mention that Kim is an awesome cake decorator? You gotta check these out!

Amelia takes you on a tour of her new home

The living room half of the living/dining areaAmelia's bedroom...not yet messed up.
Mommy? Happy to be in her new home.
Amelia? Not so sure.

Well, here they are, pics of our new place in San Antonio. Amelia's adjusting really well, she likes her new, bigger bedroom, and all of the doors. She also likes to shut me in her closet when I'm hanging up her clothes. She also likes the windows...in our last place, they were too high to see out of, but she likes trying to pull down the blinds even more.

We've moved!

Most of you know that we were moving to San Antonio...well, we're here!

We just got internet and phone access installed today, so I will be posting pictures soon, and we'll be calling everybody with our new contact information.

We're thrilled to be here...so much to do, and we've got a bunch of friends here.

We'll be in touch soon!

Taking a nap and stuff about yard sales

Apparently, it's hard work being a 13 month old, because Amelia fell asleep on me last night, well before her bedtime, and then woke up 30 minutes later with her hair plastered to me head. (See mom? I tell you, Amelia runs hot!)
Sorry there aren't more pictures, we've rbeen really busy with packing (Okay, Austin's been doing most of the packing) and we had our yard sale yesterday morning, which got us up at 6am to set up. We had advertised our yard sale in the newspaper....said it started at 7am, and weren't expecting a lot of people, since it's not yard sale season. Austin went to the store to get coffee and change, and when he came back at 6:30, there were tons of people there and he had to park 2 houses down. We actually sold our 5 big-ticket items in the first 15 minutes!

You won't believe who these kids are!

Colin, 8 years old
Aidan, 6 years old

If you haven't seen a recent picture of Colin and Aidan, you will be amazed by how much they have grown. They are both so tall...in fact, at 8 years old, Colin is already 5 feet tall!

Daredevil!

You know how you see your kid doing something so cute and naughty, you just have to take a picture? Here you go...Amelia loves standing on things she is supposed to sit on.

Latest news from the Hendersons

I think most everybody that reads our blog already knows this, but we are moving soon!

I accepted a job offer back in San Antonio, and I'll actually be working in the same building at Brooks AFB as I did when I was on active duty. I'll also be doing some traveling, and we're hoping that Austin and Amelia will be able to come along with me on some of the trips.

We will actually be moving on Thanksgiving day, and we expect to arrive in San Antonio the next day, Friday. We don't have our new address yet, but I will get it out as soon as it's finalized.

We're really excited about the move...a lot of our friends are still in San Antonio, and we are craving big-city life again. We're already talking about the places we'll go, and the restaurants we'll eat at.

At the playground

I took Amelia to a school playground this afternoon that's pretty close by. Even though she's too young for the equipment there, I thought she'd have fun just running around. Actually, she spent our whole time there eating the rocks that were under the equipment, and then screamed when we left because apparently eating rocks is a lot of fun.

Amelia and Daddy

Amelia loves her Daddy, and nobody in the world (even me) can make her laugh like he does. If I'm hanging out with her, and she suddenly starts smiling and laughing, I know her dad has just walked in the room. If she hears his voice somewhere in the house, she gets up and tries to find him. I took these (rare) pictures of Amelia and Austin today while they were playing around.

Just playing around

Here are 2 videos I took tonight. Amelia learned how to shake her head "No" the other day, and we laugh every time she does it. Amelia learned to say "Bye" and wave her hand a few weeks ago, but this is the first time I've got it on video.

had to do something with this hair

That didn't last long!

Amelia's bangs are getting long again, but still not thick enough to keep a barrette in, so I had to do something...

I took this video last week while I was home for lunch. The fence is our neighbors'...Amelia was trying to see if their doberman was outside. In case you're wondering what the metal pole thing on the left of the sidewalk is...it's a rail for the skateboard kids to hurt themselves on.
