He was 7 lb, 7 oz, and 20 inches long. And yes, those are his crib sheets...that baby is styling! Congratulations, Evan and Thu-Mai!

She still won't say Mama

Amelia learned two new words today! "Dig," and "Gentle"

She got a toy with her Whatakids meal today, a plastic sand trowel. She picked it up, and started to pretend to dig, and said, 'Dig! Dig! Dig!' I never taught her that...she learned it from 'Go Diego Go.'

I wear dangly earrings and pendant necklace everyday, and Amelia loves to inspect them. I always tell her "gentle," so she doesn't yank on them. Today, she repeated "gentle" clear as a bell.

As I am writing this, Austin says that I am wrong, that Amelia does say "Mama." She just doesn't say it when I'm around. She also can speak a 3 word sentence, if you consider "Hi Gay Guy!" (no, really) to be a 3 word sentence.

Delaware Beach

I'm in Delaware this week...and only for a week, which I'm really grateful for. I'll be back on Friday, then leaving again Sunday morning for Idaho for a week. Anyway, while I'm here in Dover, I took some time to drive to a nearby beach to take some pictures. I couldn't understand why the hotel desk clerk said it was a sandy beach, but for fishing, not for swimming. Who doesn't swim at a sandy beach? And then I got there and understood. It's probably one of the grossest non-inland beaches I've ever seen. It was low tide, so the mud flats were pretty big, with dead horsehoe crabs all over and wow...the horseflies were attacking me. I collected some pretty rocks to add to my desk collection, and it was like...bend, pick up a rock, swat horsefly again, bend, swat, swat, etc. And, um....cactus? On a beach?

Ballerina Girl

Last week, Amelia found Aidan's old ballerina dress in her closet. She really, really wanted to wear it, so I took it down and put it on there. How do little girls just know instinctively to twirl? Amelia got tangled up in the tulle a bit, so I cut it down in length from the original (shown in the picture) to a more manageable length just below the knees.
